The protagonists of the first season of Stories behind Students – five stories that inspire.

Five young students, five very different paths – but one thing in common: passion, courage, and character. A look back at the first season of Stories behind Students.

Whether it's start-ups, top-level sports, or social engagement – in five episodes, we took a look behind the scenes and introduced people who are more than just grades. As the season comes to a close, we look back and say thank you for five honest, inspiring, and surprising insights into student life at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol.

EPISODE 1: THERESA – HITTING THE TARGET WITH PRECISION

Theresa Meißl studies Marketing & Communication Management  – and hits the bullseye. As a successful sport shooter, she participates in international competitions and trains with air rifles and small-bore rifles at the highest level. In the first episode, she provides insights into her daily training routine, her discipline, and what fascinates her about her extraordinary sport.

EPISODE 2: SIMONE – MOUNTAIN BIKING WITH ATTITUDE

In episode 2, we meet Simone Kellner. She lives for mountain biking – and is also committed to greater inclusion and diversity in sport. As a master's student in digital marketing, she is involved with Crankworx Innsbruck and enduro.tirol – and organizes inclusive rideouts that anyone can join. Her motivation: “Sport should be for everyone.”

EPISODE 3: MAGDALENA – FROM THE SKI SLOPES TO THE LECTURE HALL

On the road with the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), collecting European Cup points, winning championship titles—and then consciously letting go. In episode 3, Magdalena explains why she turned her back on top-level sport and how she is now finding a new direction in her degree program. Her story shows that success has many faces—even beyond the podium.

EPISODE 4: LUNA – WAKEBOARDING, WIND & WAVES

Action on the water is her element: Luna combines her degree program with top-level sport – and does so with impressive ease, as episode 4 shows. As a wakeboarder and kitesurfer, she trains regularly, competes in championships and accepts bruises as part of the price of landing her next trick. Her goal: fun, freedom and personal development.

EPISODE 5: PATRICK – FROM THE FH PROJECT TO TOKYO

For the grand finale of the series, we introduced Patrick Funke-Rapp. The 21-year-old founded rentnsend, a sustainable rental system for sports equipment, and won Red Bull Basement Austria. His journey took him all the way to the world finals in Tokyo – and shows how an idea can become an international start-up.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The first season has come to an end – but not the format. We want to continue showing what happens behind the scenes of everyday student life. After all, the people at our higher education institution have many stories to tell – and we look forward to continuing to give them a stage.

EVERYONE HAS A STORY – WHAT'S YOURS?

Are you studying at the FH Kufstein Tirol and have a story to tell? Then the next season could be yours. Write to us!
