A few days after receiving the travel gift, the students of HTL Linz, accompanied by their class teacher DI Josef Edlinger, started their road trip to Scandinavia.

Great news from HTL Linz: Class 4HBhz won €3,000 in the FH Kufstein Tirol travel competition for their class trip. At the end of April 2026, they traveled to Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, where they gained valuable international and cultural experiences.

Great excitement at HTL Linz: Class 4HBhz won EUR 3,000 for their class trip in the Travel-up competition organised by Kufstein University of Applied Sciences. In late April 2026, the funding enabled the students to travel through Germany, Denmark and Sweden, where they gained valuable international and cultural experiences.

“We are delighted to enable students to have an enriching journey with our contribution – memories that will last,” said Streli.

FROM LINZ VIA HAMBURG TO MALMÖ

From April 24th to May 3rd, 2026, the class trip took the students from Linz to Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. Stops on the journey included Hamburg, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Malmö. The class used their prize money to finance accommodations, which freed up additional funds for other activities. Engaging guided tours in the visited cities provided the students with valuable cultural and academic insights.

The trip offered a welcome change from the daily school routine and made international experiences tangible. At the same time, it strengthened class cohesion and opened up new perspectives beyond the classroom.

As part of its Travel-up competition, the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in Tyrol supports a school class annually with a grant of €3,000 for their class trip. The aim is to encourage young people and enable them to gain valuable international experience. This year, nearly 200 upper secondary school students from Austria, Bavaria, and South Tyrol, as well as their teachers, participated in the competition. The winners were selected at random.
