FH Kufstein Tirol researchers receive funding from the Tyrolean Research Fund for outstanding projects

Three researchers and four junior researchers from the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences have been granted financial support for their projects.

The Tyrolean Research Fund provided resources to support scientific research and junior researchers in the region for the 15th time. The fund aims to promote the competitiveness of scientific research in Tyrol and grants start-up funding to promising research initiatives of mainly young researchers. DI Bernhard Tilg, member of the regional government, and the rectors of the Tyrolean universities congratulated the recipients of the grants.

The following researchers from the FH Kufstein Tirol received grants based on the 2016 tender (in alphabetical order):

Junior researchers

Sebastian Danninger, MA

"Learning concepts based on virtual reality"

(Web Business & Technology)

One of the goals of the project is to develop a concept to integrate virtual reality devices into teaching environments and to establish a VR lab, where regional SMEs can test their ideas and prototypes.

Prof. (FH) DDr. Mario Situm

"The measureability of different crisis stages in a company using an indifference model" (Corporate Restructuring)

The project is aimed at identifying the variables which best explain different states of businesses in order to improve early detection mechanisms to identify corporate crises.

„eKANBAN in a learning factory“

(ERP Systems & Business Process Management)

The eKANBAN method, a proven tool used in the Toyota production system, will be applied to a learning factory, the LEAN Lab at the FH Kufstein Tirol, for the first time.

"The influence of the perception of music on risk behavior and decision-making of consumers"

(Marketing & Communication Management)

This project examines the influence that structural components of music (tempo, pitch, beat) have on the risk behavior of consumers in different online settings.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Claudia Stura

"Opportunities of and obstacles to organized sports in the integration process of refugees"

(Sports, Culture & Event Management)

The study aims to identify the potential and barriers faced by sports initiatives in Austria and Germany. This should advance sports-related measures to integrate refugees based on performance indicators and best practice examples.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Torsten Wojciechowski

"Sports in the election programs and manifestos of political parties – a comparative analysis between Austria and Germany"

(Sports, Culture & Event Management)

The content of election programs and manifestos of political parties in Austria and Germany will be analyzed and coded using NVivo as there are no current publications regarding the sports content of party programs.
