We are delighted to invite you to the Management Forum at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, which we are organising in cooperation with the Franco-German University. Our joint event aims to shed light on the growing challenges facing Europe in the global competition for economic, political and scientific leadership.

Why is this forum particularly important right now?

Looking at current innovation trends, for example, it becomes clear that:

  • industry and the labour market are changing rapidly, with sustainability, social justice and security taking centre stage,
  • states require greater solidarity in order to improve the economic situation,
  • Europe needs to become more independent and sovereign,
  • around 40 “nominal” AI models have been developed in the United States, approximately 15 in China, and only three in Europe,
  • although Europe is strong in certain areas of research, it lags significantly behind the United States and China when it comes to implementation—particularly in industrial application, commercialisation and scaling.

Together with representatives from politics, business and higher education institutions, we will discuss concrete strategies:

  • How can Europe regain its leadership in innovation and development?
  • What role do universities and think tanks play in achieving this goal?
  • How can the transition from research to industrial application succeed?
  • How complementary are academic study, teaching and entry into professional life?

How can Europe become an economic pioneer again? With strong small and medium-sized enterprises, intelligently supported start-ups, and leadership that sets clear facts instead of pouring money into a system in which 80–90% of potential goes to waste.

Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine is reshaping the EU and Europe. Ukraine's resistance, supported by its partners, highlights what “defines” Europe, what holds it together, and what innovative role it should play in international politics in the future.

Our studies show that without digital sovereignty, Europe's room for maneuver is shrinking. AI is becoming a state power—the decisive factor is whether Europe remains a shaper or a dependent when it comes to critical infrastructure.

Mobility and multilingualism are key to Europe's future. University alliances build bridges between teaching and practice – so that innovation is not just conceived, but implemented.
