Dual degree with Clausthal University of Technology starting in fall 2025

The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and Clausthal University of Technology are intensifying their cooperation in the bachelor's degree program Industrial Engineering and, starting next semester, will offer students an international dual degree. After four semesters at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, students can continue their studies at Clausthal University of Technology and earn both degrees.

The innovative cooperation model offers participating students a wide range of advantages:

• In-depth knowledge: Students benefit from high-quality engineering course content and economics courses with a quantitative focus.
• Two degrees: In addition to the degree from the FH Kufstein Tirol, a BSc. in Industrial Engineering is also awarded by Clausthal University of Technology.
• Excellent master's opportunities: Graduates are directly qualified for further master's programs at both partner universities.

Mutually recognized examination results

Both higher education institutions recognize a large proportion of each other's examination results, which makes the double degree particularly efficient. At the same time, the specific profiles of the two-degree programs complement each other perfectly. While the range of subjects at Clausthal University of Technology is more basic and research-oriented, practical and project-related content plays a greater role at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences. The Kufstein curriculum uses the freedom resulting from this stronger focus to integrate subjects with direct practical relevance. With a bachelor's degree from Clausthal University of Technology, students can seamlessly continue their studies in the consecutive master's program at the university, which ties in with Clausthal's future-oriented research priorities in the fields of production and processes, energy and raw materials management, and materials technologies.

“As the person responsible for the bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering at Clausthal University of Technology, I am very pleased about the launch of the dual degree program in the coming winter semester 2025/26,” adds Prof. Dr. Christoph Schwindt, Operations Management Group, Institute of Management and Economics. "This program has been developed in close cooperation with our partner university, the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in Tyrol. It enables students from Clausthal and Kufstein to obtain degrees from both higher education institutions within seven semesters. The Chairmen of the Board of the Accreditation Council, which is responsible for organizing quality assurance for degree programs in Germany, confirm that the dual degree program is adequately structured, that it is feasible to study, and that all formal requirements are met."

Interested students apply after completing the fourth semester of their FH degree program. The FH Kufstein Tirol nominates qualified candidates to the partner university TU Clausthal. The decision and admission are made by the TU Clausthal, consiering the admission rules applicable there.
