Mario Döller Chairs Higher Education Conference

Cornelia Hagele (center), State Minister of Science, congratulated Mario Döller (Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, Tyrol) on his appointment as chair of the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference and thanked Regine Mathies (left, president of the Tyrolean University of Teacher Education) for her service over the past two years.
Prof. (FH) PD Dr. Mario Döller, Rector of Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, has been appointed Chair of the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference. By assuming the chair, Kufstein University of Applied Sciences takes on a leading role in fostering collaboration among Tyrol's eight higher education institutions and advancing the region's higher education and research landscape.
Prof. (FH) PD Dr. Mario Döller will lead the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference for the next two years. The chairmanship of the committee is transferring from the Tyrolean University of Education to the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences. The goal remains to further strengthen cooperation among Tyrolean higher education institutions as well as dialogue with the State of Tyrol and the business community.
Cornelia Hagele, MMag.a Dr., State Minister for Science, congratulated the new chair and rector of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in Tyrol, Mario Döller, and at the same time thanked the former chair and rector of the Tyrolean University of Education, HS-Prof. Mag. Dr. Regine Mathies, BEd MEd:

Mario Döller, who has served as rector of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in Tyrol since 2016, sees close collaboration among higher education institutions as a key factor in Tyrol’s success as a center of academic excellence. He thanked Regine Mathies for her dedication over the past two years and looks forward to the coming term with confidence:

SHARED RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
Regine Mathies also looks back positively on her two-year term in office. During this time, networking among Tyrolean higher education institutions was further strengthened and joint initiatives were implemented—including the annual Tyrolean Higher Education Institution Reception, an event attended by Federal Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner, and the publication of a joint position paper on sustainability.
“Serving as chair of the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference over the past two years has been an exciting time during which we were able to strengthen our networks. (...) I wish the new leadership team, headed by Mario Döller, every success and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the interest of a strong Tyrolean higher education sector,” emphasized Regine Mathies.
As part of the change in leadership, Nikolaus Janovsky, president of the Edith Stein Higher Education Institution, will also serve as deputy representative for the higher education institutions or universities, and Margit Raich, president of UMIT TIROL, will serve as deputy representative for the higher education institutions or universities.

About the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference
Since 2009, the Tyrolean Higher Education Conference has served as the joint governing body for the eight Tyrolean higher education institutions. Its goal is to jointly advance current educational and scientific issues, create synergies, and sustainably strengthen Tyrol as a center for science and higher education. Together, the member institutions represent more than 40,000 students and approximately 8,000 members of staff / employees in research, teaching, and administration.
