Starting this year, FH Kufstein will honor graduates who are especially active in charitable and socially responsible causes. The first Alumni Award goes to René Moser, BA, MA who volunteers for the Lake Achen Red Cross.

This year, all graduates of FH Kufstein Tirol had the opportunity to, for the first time, apply for the Alumni Award or nominate former fellow students. The Alumni & Career Services of the polytechnic tendered the award with a prize of € 1,000 for special commitment in the area of (corporate) social responsibility/charitable projects/social contribution.

Service spectrum of the Lake Achen location significantly expanded

René Moser as head of the Lake Achen location of the Austrian Red Cross Tirol District Office Schwaz is the winner of the Alumni Awards 2018. In his function at the Red Cross, he coordinates over 30 persons and is also responsible for the strategic orientation of the office. Thus, Moser expanded the portfolio with numerous volunteer service areas, among these disaster relief, crisis intervention and much more. “We founded the Lake Achen Youth Group with our latest project.” Thus, we can now introduce children and youths to the work of the Red Cross and offer first-aid and emergency assistance courses,” explained Moser.

“In addition to his work and extra-occupational studies, René Moser took on the volunteer task with great motivation as head of the local office and, together with many other volunteers is dedicated to saving lives. We are honored to present him with the Alumni Award of FH Kufstein Tirol,” as Jennifer Krüger, BA of the Alumni & Career Services of the University of Applied Sciences stated enthusiastically. “I am very happy, and I feel honored to be the first laureate of the Alumni Awards. The timing of this donation is ideal since we can now invest in new training equipment for the youth group. We are currently planning to acquire a defibrillator for training purposes,” said Moser.

Suggestion from classmates

Two classmates submitted a nomination letter for the volunteer work of René Moser, BA, MA. A jury, consisting of the work group for strategy development of the Alumni & Career Services and the university administration assessed all applications according to determined criteria and distinguished Mr. Moser on June 8, 2018 within the context of the HomeComing 2018, the annual graduate reunion. Together with the award, FH Kufstein Tirol also donated € 1,000 to the award-winning project Lake Achen Youth Group.
